Morvarid Dastjerdi is a Sydney-based contemporary abstract artist with a multidisciplinary professional background spanning cinema, theatre, fashion design, and the visual arts. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Film Directing, and her training and professional experience in cinema have shaped her sensitivity to visual storytelling, composition, movement, rhythm, atmosphere, and light.

Painting has remained a consistent part of her creative practice, evolving over time from a personal means of exploring ideas and emotions into a sustained artistic practice. Alongside her professional career, she undertook formal training in painting and explored a range of techniques, materials, and approaches before finding abstraction to be the visual language most closely aligned with her artistic interests and direction.

Her experience across cinema, theatre, and fashion design, including specialised work in bridal couture garment construction and handcrafted embellishment techniques, has further shaped her attention to materials, detail, composition, and visual structure. In 2025, she presented In the Flow of Light, a solo exhibition at Palangi Gallery in Sydney. She continues to develop her painting practice and is available for bespoke commissions for private collectors, interior designers, and residential, commercial, and hospitality projects.
