Artist Statement

Light serves as a point of departure throughout my work, functioning as both a visual and symbolic presence.

Working through contemporary abstraction, I create layered compositions that investigate movement, emergence, and the relationship between structure and flow. Light appears throughout my paintings not simply as illumination, but as a metaphor for awareness, transformation, and the unfolding of inner experience.

Using acrylic, mixed media, and reflective elements, I build surfaces that respond to changing perspectives and conditions of light. Curved forms, radiating structures, and spatial rhythms recur throughout the work, creating visual pathways that explore balance, expansion, connection, and becoming.

My background in cinema, theatre, and design has deeply influenced my approach to composition. I am interested in how visual elements can guide attention, create atmosphere, and evoke emotional resonance without relying on narrative representation. Rather than depicting a specific place or story, the paintings invite contemplation and offer space for individual interpretation.

At the centre of my practice is an ongoing fascination with the process of becoming, the subtle transition between what is known and what is emerging. Through abstraction, I seek to create works that embody clarity, presence, and quiet reflection while maintaining a strong visual dialogue with contemporary architectural and interior environments.

The paintings are intended to exist both as independent works of art and as enduring visual presences within contemporary interiors and architectural spaces.
