My practice explores how abstract painting can create the conditions for a different quality of attention, opening space for personal perceptual engagement with relationships.

I create layered abstract paintings that invite sustained looking, allowing relationships between light, colour, movement, rhythm, texture, and space to gradually emerge. Light is a central visual and perceptual instrument in my work, organising these relationships and directing attention. Working with acrylic, mixed media, and metallic leaf, I construct compositions that respond to changing light and shifting viewpoints.

In selected works, I integrate circular mirrors into the painted surface as material and perceptual elements. Through reflection, they bring aspects of the viewer and surrounding environment into the visual field, creating a changing relationship between artwork, viewer, light, and space. The circular form is chosen for its compositional qualities and for its associations within my practice with continuity, recurrence, and movement.

My background in cinema, theatre, and design informs my approach to composition, atmosphere, movement, and visual attention, while allowing the work to remain open to individual experience.

Whether encountered as an independent work of contemporary art or integrated within architectural and interior environments, the paintings remain visually responsive, revealing new perceptual possibilities through changing conditions and repeated encounters.
